Mike and I got an early start on our short trip down to the Maryland State Fair Grounds in Timonium for the Great Scale Model Train Show. After parking, we located the main entrance to the show and walked in. No line - just 20 or so guys milling around the registration table. We were about 20 minutes early. Once the show officially started and we were allowed "in", we wondered around. This was a huge show full of vendors of anything related to trains and modeling. Several clubs had their layouts set up with trains running. We met up with Jon and his dad (a modeler as well) and chatted for a bit. My shopping list consisted of track (I decided on Micro Engineering Flex-Track, code 83), turnouts, rail nippers and maybe another structure kit. Before too long, the cash I brought ran out with a few things still on the list. I'm not sure I ever want to account for every dollar spend on this hobby. Yikes.
